On Monday September 21st at or about 1:45 am, while on patrol, Officers of the Dunkirk Police Department discovered that the front glass door at the Family Dollar Store located at 168 E. 4th St. had been broken out. On-scene investigation and review of the in-store surveillance cameras indicated that the door was damaged by two male subjects, who then entered the store and stole items. Officers were able to obtain a physical and clothing description of the two subjects from the video, which was relayed to the on-coming 7am-3pm shift. Two subjects matching the description were later located and subsequently interviewed at Police Headquarters. Several items of stolen property have been recovered as a result of the investigation. Two male juveniles, ages 11 and 12, have been charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, and Petit Larceny in connection with the incident.  The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents and have been scheduled to answer to the charges in Family Court at a later date.
