On Thursday, September 24th, 2015, at about 1:35 PM, Police responded to the hold alarm at Cattaraugus County Bank, located at 1065 Main St. Ext Dunkirk, NY. The bank employees gave a description and direction of travel to the police. They report the man passed a note to the teller without saying a word, demanding money. The teller complied with demands and then pressed the bank hold up alarm. A perimeter of the area was set up by officers responding from the Dunkirk and Fredonia Police Departments, DPD K9 “Nico” and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department and University Police from Fredonia. The suspect was located in a field a short way from the bank and identified as Tyler Moon, age 29, of 54 N. Greenfield Rd. Porter Corners, NY and taken into custody. No weapon was displayed or located. Cash, in an amount excess of one thousand dollars was taken and recovered through investigation. Moon was charged with Robbery in the Third Degree and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree. Moon was arraigned and being held without bail for a preliminary hearing scheduled September 29, 2015 in Dunkirk City Court.
