Larry E. Brooks Jr. (39 yoa) LKA of 438 Deer St, Dunkirk, New York, was arrested on Monday morning, March 13th, 2017 on 4 felony charges. Police responded to a Grant ave. residence and Brooks was observed by police running from the area. Brooks was taken into custody a short distance away after running from police and was found to be in possession a large quantity of crack cocaine. He was arraigned in Dunkirk City court on Thursday 3/16/17 on the following charges:
On Wednesday March 1st, 2017 at about 9:30 pm, Officers of the Dunkirk Police Department received a complaint about a suspicious female in the bathroom of a local restaurant. Officers arrived on scene and located Kristen E. Grant leaving the store. As officers were speaking with Grant two hypodermic needles were observed protruding from her back pants pocket. A subsequent investigation revealed that one of the needles was loaded with cocaine and two bindles of heroin were found in Grants sock. Officers also located Julie A. Pierce in a nearby vehicle that belonged to Grant. After speaking with
Pierce it was discovered that she was in possession of a hypodermic needle and a quantity of powder cocaine. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Dunkirk City Jail pending arraignment.
Grant is charges with: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree-(2 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument
Pierce is charged with: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument
On March 1, 2017, at about 12:08 AM, a Dunkirk Police officer on patrol observed a vehicle fail to signal when pulling into traffic from the curb. The vehicle was stopped for the violation and the operator was found to be Michael J. Borst, age 31, of Brocton, NY. On an approach to the vehicle, an officer observed what appeared to be a handgun lying on the floor next to the driver. It was later determined to be a replica airgun with realistic features. Through investigation, a quantity of Methamphetamine and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized from the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (2 counts), Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, and Failure to signal from curb. Borst was arraigned by Dunkirk City Court Judge Drag who set bail at $3,000 cash/$6,000 property.
