On March 27th, 2015, at about 3:22 PM, The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the City of Dunkirk Police Department stopped Charles J. Fredrick, age 40, of 124 Ruggles St, Dunkirk, NY, in a vehicle on Main St. in the City of Dunkirk. At the time of the vehicle stop, authorities had a Search Warrant that had been issued earlier by Chautauqua County Court Judge John Ward. The search warrant was for Mr. Fredrick and his vehicle. As a result of the search, authorities seized approximately one (1) ounce of cocaine, a large amount of cash, a scale for weighing narcotics, a quantity of marihuana and a late model vehicle. Mr. Fredrick is charged, at this time, with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree. Additional charges will be filed at a later date
As a result of this seizure, authorities obtained a search warrant from Justice Pulci of the Town of Pomfret and searched a residence on Ruggles St. in the City of Dunkirk. From this search, a quantity of marihuana and currency was seized. Mr. Fredrick will face additional charges as a result of this seizure as well. Mr. Fredrick will be held at the City of Dunkirk Jail where he will be held until his arraignment and then he will be subsequently be remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

The Dunkirk Police Department is advising residents to be aware of a phone call scam from individuals that shows a caller ID of a Michigan Phone number 989-738-5589. The caller tells you that there is a Microsoft virus on your computer and you must supply your name , computer ID/IP address etc, and other personal information so they can remote into your computer to correct the problem. If anyone receives this call ignore it and hang up.

Joseph M. Sheedy
On March 23, 2015, at about 9:00 PM, Joseph M. Sheedy, age 38, of 821 Central Ave, Dunkirk, NY turned himself in on a warrant issued by Judge Walter Drag today for failing to register an address in accordance with the Sex Offender Registry Act. This was a joint investigation conducted by the Dunkirk Police Department and Chautauqua County Probation Department. Mr. Sheedy had been a resident of the Village of Silver Creek and allegedly hadn’t registered an address while residing in the City of Dunkirk. Mr. Sheedy was locked up without bail pending arraignment on a Felony charge of Violation of his Duty to Registry.
Cody A. Davis
On March 23, 2015, at about 12:15 PM, City of Dunkirk Police seized significant amounts of cocaine powder, marihuana and cash during an investigation and search of an apartment at 705 Main St, Dunkirk, NY. Dunkirk Police Officers were sent to the residence for a report of an unwanted person. While inside the residence an officer observed a small amount of marihuana, packaging materials, a digital scale and cash, all in the room with the suspect, Cody A. Davis. A strong odor of marihuana was also noticed in the closet area of the room. The subsequent investigation and search of the room led to the location and seizure of more than 11 ounces of marihuana, well over an eighth of an ounce of high purity cocaine, packaging materials, scales and US Currency.
Cody Davis, 25, of 705 Main St, Dunkirk, NY was arrested on charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (Felony), Criminal Possession of Marihuana 3rd Degree (Felony), and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree (Misdemeanor). He was taken to Dunkirk Police Headquarters and was held without bail on the felony charges for arraignment in Dunkirk City Court.
UPDATE: 12:45 PM – Thanks to social media posts, Kaitlin has been located safe. Due to her age, we are not able to release the particulars. The Dunkirk Police Department wishes to thank our followers for sharing, which let to her quick finding.
The Dunkirk Police Department is searching for Kaitlin Lasecki, age 16, of Dunkirk, NY. Kaitlin appears to have runaway from home. Kaitlin may be wearing brown bear paw boots (mid-calf), blue North Face jacket, black/gray sweat pants with “Pink” on the side leg, and a red hooded sweat shirt. Kaitlin is approximately 5”0” tall weighing about 206 pounds. She has long brown hair and wears glasses. She may be in the Jamestown, NY area.
